Rayquaza Gold Star Among Multiple CGC-certified TCGs Sold for Six Figures through Fanatics Collect

An ultra-rare Rayquaza Gold Star from the 2005 Pokémon EX Deoxys set recently earned the third-highest price realized for a CGC-certified TCG sold in a Fanatics Collect auction. The rarity was just one of the thousands of CGC-certified TCGs, sports cards, and non-sports cards that were sold through the Fanatics Collect marketplace in July 2026.

The Rayquaza Gold Star, Pokémon (2005) EX Deoxys Holo graded CGC Gem Mint 10 realized $168,000 in an auction on July 19. The EX Deoxys set is known for being tough to grade because of factory edge wear, which is reflected in the CGC Cards Population Report. Out of more than 250 copies in the Pop Report, only 12 examples earned grades of CGC Gem Mint 10, and a sole copy earned the coveted grade of CGC Pristine 10. With a pull rate of just one Gold Star insert every 72 packs, this iconic card illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda is one of the grails of Pokémon TCGs.

Another TCG highlight from July is a Very, Lucky Black Cat, VeeFriends (2026) #E-15 Erupt! - SuperFractor certified CGC Authentic that realized $132,000 in a Premier Auction on July 24. One of the most coveted characters in Gary Vaynerchuk's 2026 Topps Chrome VeeFriends set is the Very, Very, Very, Very Lucky Black Cat. Similar to Pokémon's Charizard or Pikachu, the black cat's cards are highly sought after, especially copies from the Erupt! subset (think Kaboom! inserts in sports cards). Even more special, it is a one-of-one SuperFractor, making this one of the gems of the entire set.

Meanwhile, for the third month in a row, an elite Tom Brady card from the 2025 Topps Chrome Football set has been a top sports card highlight sold on the Fanatics Collect platform. Most recently, a 2025 Topps Chrome Sapphire Legend Autographs #CLA-TB Tom Brady - Padparadscha certified CGC Authentic realized $132,000 in a Premier Auction on July 24. That makes this one-of-one rarity the third CGC-certified Brady card to reach six figures and is also now the tenth-highest price paid for any CGC-certified sports card through Fanatics Collect.

Another sports highlight from July is a 2026 Panini Prizm World Cup #40 Kylian Mbappe - Black certified CGC Authentic, which realized $132,000 in a Premier Auction on July 24. Although Mbappe and his France teammates faltered in their semi-final match against eventual champions Spain, the Real Madrid attacker had an impressive run, winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot Award with 10 goals. As one of the best and most collected soccer players in the world today, Mbappe's one-of-one Black parallel was also one of the grails that collectors were searching for when the set released in mid-June during the 2026 World Cup.
