Set: 2024 Panini Prizm Draft Picks

Card: Student Orientation #SO-AM Arch Manning

What makes it special? Arch Manning is officially taking over under center as the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns this season. With a family name like Manning and having not only football but the QB position in his blood, he was arguably the most hyped and analyzed backup QB in college football history the last two seasons. After former starter Quinn Ewers moved on to the NFL, the Longhorns are now Manning's team.

Although Manning came to Texas as one of the highest-rated high school recruits in the nation and with a famous last name, he's waited patiently for his opportunity to lead the Longhorns. Now, in the 21-year-old's third season in Austin, he'll be stepping into a much larger role and will have a spotlight fixated on him week in and week out. Last season, Manning showed flashes of elite talent during limited playing time, which is why so many fans and analysts are excited to see what he can do as the starter.

The young quarterback filled in for Ewers as the starter in two games last season, leading Texas to victories in both matchups. He also made appearances in eight other games, racking up 939 yards passing with a 67.8 completion percentage, 108 yards rushing, 9 passing TDs and 4 rushing TDs on the season. Now with Manning elevated as the starter, Texas is expecting big things out of the young gunslinger, who looks poised to take over as the face of college football.

Did you know? During his early football career at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Manning was named the team's starter as just a freshman and would lead the team under center all four years of high school before committing to Texas. The teenager earned National Freshman of the Year honors after his first season and would go on to break multiple Isidore Newman School records by the end of his high school career that were held by his famous uncles. During his senior season, Manning broke his uncle Eli Manning's record of 7,268 career passing yards and his uncle Peyton Manning's record of 93 career touchdowns.
