CGC Grades Elusive Chinese Mew Promo Card a Pristine 10

CGC recently certified one of the rarest Chinese Pokémon cards to be released yet: a Mew ex from the Simplified Chinese Collect 151 set! The card earned a CGC Pristine 10 grade — the highest grade available on the CGC Cards Grading Scale.

As The Pokémon TCG continues to expand to Mainland China, The Pokémon Company has started running tournament circuits and promotional events, hoping to introduce more players and collectors to the game. Like most Pokémon TCG tournaments, the prize for competing and attending competitive events are special promotional cards, usually not seen anywhere else.

Mew ex is one of these promotional cards. To receive one, Chinese players needed to complete 15 activities (such as gym battles) across three tournament venues during the 2024 circuit. If they were able to show proof of the 15 completed tasks by December 15, 2024, then the qualifying players would be entered into a lottery to receive Mew ex.

Winners of this lottery would be selected on the 15th of each month, starting in March 2024 all the way to December. Only 1,510 copies of Mew ex were given out this way, making the card incredibly rare. What’s more, this Chinese Mew ex promo features artwork that is currently exclusive to Mainland China, making the card even more desirable.

As of June 2025, CGC has certified 19 examples of Mew ex, according to the CGC Cards Population Report. This Mew ex is one of only three bestowed with the gold CGC Pristine 10 label.
