Ten Terrific CGC-certified Cards of PGA Legend Tiger Woods

Posted on 08/04/2025

Tiger Woods won't be teeing it up at the 2025 Masters Tournament, but his legacy at Augusta is ever-present as we revisit some of the top CGC-certified cards of the iconic golfer.

As the Masters Tournament at Augusta National begins this week, it will be missing a key figure during the 2025 edition of the tourney: five-time winner Tiger Woods. The legendary golfer is dealing with another setback due to injury and will not be participating this year. However, his presence will still be felt throughout the week, as few other golfers evoke memories of the hallowed grounds of Augusta like Woods, who first won the iconic major at only 21 years old.

Woods went on to win three more majors at The Masters in 2001, 2002 and 2005. In 2019, against all odds, he would overcome a fourth back surgery and a major drought that lasted more than a decade to win his fifth title at Augusta. Considering there were rumblings that Woods would never play golf again, let alone win a PGA tournament, it was arguably the most impressive victory of Woods' storied career.

Six years later, as highlights of previous tournaments are shown and past champions are revisited throughout the week at Augusta, Woods' Masters heroics through the years will stand out, serving as a reminder of the incredible talent of one of the game's living legends. Woods became a household name when he won his first major in 1997, becoming the youngest golfer to ever win at Augusta. He'd go on to win 15 total majors, trailing only Jack Nicklaus (18) in overall majors wins. Woods may never surpass Nicklaus and may never win at Augusta again, but his imprint on the Masters Tournament, and on the game of golf, will always be evident.

Ten Terrific Cards of Tiger Woods

2001 Upper Deck #1 Tiger Woods

Arguably Tiger Woods' most iconic card, this 2001 Upper Deck #1 serves as his first official rookie card. In 1996, Sports Illustrated for Kids inserted the first-ever card of the golfer into an issue of the magazine. However, Upper Deck was the first card maker to offer mainstream golf cards since Pro Set's offering from 1992, making the 2001 Upper Deck #1 the cornerstone of any Tiger Woods card collection.

2001 Upper Deck Tiger Woods - Promo

Very similar to the previous card, this promo card is the rarer issue of the pair, and its value reflects it. The overall design is exactly the same on each side, but Upper Deck switched out the images on the front and back, including adding a classic image of Woods celebrating a made putt on the front.

2001 Upper Deck Golf Gallery #GG4 Tiger Woods

Upper Deck's Golf Gallery series features fun and attractive artistic renderings of golfers, including the #GG4 issue of a young Tiger Woods. A simple upper body portrait of Woods in his popular Nike tournament gear shows the golfer with a big smile, presumably after another great shot on the course. The back of the card shares the artist's name and a short bio that correctly predicts Woods' future impact on the sport.

2021 UD Metal Universe Champions Jambalaya #10 Tiger Woods

This more recent issue from Upper Deck's Metal Universe Champions set is another fun one, as it utilizes the popular designs of the Jambalaya die-cut inserts that became highly sought-after in the late 1990s. Debuting in 1997 as part of the E-X2001 Basketball series, Jambalaya inserts were originally headlined by Michael Jordan and a young Kobe Bryant. Years later, Woods would feature on a handful of his own Jambalaya inserts, making for a nostalgic modern card for golf collectors to chase.

Player-worn patch cards are staples of the hobby, but not many have the distinction of featuring tournament-worn memorabilia. Upper Deck included a piece of Woods' famous Sunday Red shirt in this particular card, which was worn by the golfer in an official tournament. The relic sits at the bottom half of the card while an artistic rendering of Woods teeing off adorns the top half of the card.

2021 SP Game Used Legendary Course Relics #CR-TI Tiger Woods

This is another unique memorabilia card, this time including an actual relic from a legendary PGA Tour golf course. This particular relic comes from TPC Sawgrass, home of The Players Championship. It also includes an image of Tiger Woods bent down with his putter as he reads one of the greens at the famous golf course.

2021 SP Game Used Tour Gear Trios #TG3-WTM Woods/Morikawa/Thomas - Gold

The only card on our list that includes multiple golfers, this Game Used Tour Gear Trios insert features three PGA stars: Tiger Woods, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas. The Gold parallel is serial-numbered to only 49 cards made and features a piece of each golfer's shirt, each of which was worn in an official tournament.

2022 UD Metal Universe Champions Skybox Premium Autographs #S-25 Tiger Woods - Gold

The first card on the list to bear Tiger Woods' signature, this Metal Universe Champions issue is also one of the more modern-looking cards of the iconic golfer. With an interesting geometric background that features foil accents on premium cardstock, this Gold parallel stands out and includes Woods' signature in blue ink.

2021 SP Authentic Limited Autographs Swatch #1 Tiger Woods

The only thing better than a relic of Tiger Woods' Sunday Red golf shirt or an autograph of the famous golfer on a card is the combination of both! That's exactly what a lucky few collectors received with this 2021 SP Authentic Limited Autographs Swatch #1 card, which was limited to only 10 examples ever made. That also makes this rarity one of the most valuable cards on our list and also one of the most desirable.

2001 Upper Deck SP Authentic Sign of the Times #TW Tiger Woods

The 2001 SP Authentic Sign of the Times autographed inserts were one of the earliest chances for collectors to pull a signed card of Tiger Woods from packs. A staple of the SP Authentic sets for years, Sign of the Times cards could be found in one out of every 16 packs; however, Woods' cards were a short print issue, making them rare and hard to find. The horizontal card includes a black-and-white image of the golfer and it features an on-card signature of Woods in blue ink. A true gem of a card from the earliest years of the golfer's iconic career.
